UAV’s now mainstreamFriday 1 May 2015
Airheads plans to pit teams of drone constructors against each other in building and flying challenges, much like Robot Wars, did in the 80?s. The program is produced by Graham Norton's SO Television and will take Sunday nights Top Gear slot according to the Guardian. The casting call went out to UK based RPAS fans via DIY Drones in early March. This suggests the series will be filmed over this summer and released in the Autumn. Top Gear made extensive use of unmanned technology deploying multi-rotor camera platforms on many occasions. Nothing shouts "UAV's are now mainstream" louder than prime time BBC television.
