TreeTools near realtime drone inventory for post thinning QCFriday 8 Nov 2024 The purpose of the release is to give stakeholders an opportunity to test and provide feedback, while encouraging them to submit more data. The accuracy of the stocking assessment given depends on multiple factors, including the effectiveness of canopy recognition and the precision of drone altitude maintenance. Our goal is to keep the stocking error below 10% under normal conditions, and user corrections can easily be made to the stocking assessment. The following provides an overview for data capture and a guide to using the software. This project has been developed with funding assistance from the Precision Silviculture Programme, A Sustainable Food and Fibre Futures (SFFF) partnership between MPI and the forest industry led by Forest Growers Research.
