FIEA unveils programme for Environmental Forestry 2025/26Friday 23 May 2025
The Forest Industry Engineering Association (FIEA) has announced the official programme for its highly anticipated Environmental Forestry 2025 conference. Shaped by significant input from industry leaders, Scion, MPI, and past delegates, the conference will run from 16-17 September 2025 in Rotorua, New Zealand, complemented by insightful pre-conference and post-conference workshops. “Our previous event successfully convened over 200 representatives spanning environmental, operations, technical, and management roles from the forest industry, alongside local and central government,” said John Stulen, Programme Director. “This conference is meticulously designed for those on the ground, those planning operations, ensuring compliance, and crafting policy.” A key highlight of the conference will be the keynote address by James Newman, Senior Science Advisor at the Office of the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment. Newman will delve into the recently released and influential Alt-F Reset report, a landmark document poised to reshape the future of forestry in New Zealand and guide the enhancement of environmental strategies across the sector.
