Call for papers – 2013 Australasian Wood Residues Event

The Forest Industry Engineering Association is pleased to announce:
FIEA Residues to Revenues Conference and CleanTECH Expo - April 2013

This conference and expo series is focused on new markets where innovative companies, new processes and emerging technologies have turned former waste products into profitable resources. Delegate numbers to this key industry conference have grown since it’s inception in 1999. Run by FIEA in association with a number of principal partners this key networking event takes place on a biennial basis.

Originally focused on turning sawdust, chips and bark into valuable revenue streams from waste products this conference has been widened in scope over the years to include technologies applying to pulp and paper processes as well as associated materials processing industries which also include wood fibre as part of their value chain.

In March 2011 over 300 delegates attended the conference series which was held in both New Zealand and Australia.

For April 2013 the conference programme will include:
  • Latest residues conversion technologies from Australasia and globally
  • Emerging global trends in clean technology markets
  • Case studies of bio-energy / wood energy success stories in Australasia
  • Science behind emerging industry developments
  • Potential for industrial synergies; e.g. – wood residues & geothermal energy
  • Developments in bio-fuels markets; e.g. – aviation biofuels
  • Emerging uses of wood plastics to replace fossil fuel-based products
At this stage FIEA is calling for companies or organisations wanting to take up the opportunity of presenting at this April 2013 technology series. Expressions of interest should be made by FRIDAY 19 October 2012. Further details can be found in the attached EOI document.
