Extra events planned for Australasia

Future Forests Research is running a short meeting on 20 September in Rotorua which is open to Rotorua Loggers and FFR Harvesting Theme Members. Jack MacDonald, a cable logging expert will overview the steep slopes research program at FPInnovations and Spencer Hill in his new role as Research Leader, Harvesting Research Group, Scion will give a brief talk on some of the highlights of the FFR Harvesting Theme outputs (Alpine Grapple System and Hauler Vision System). In Australia, The Australian Forest Growers biennial conference will be held this year in Gympie 14-17 October. The theme this year is Diverse Subtropical Forestry. In an alignment of other industry events the AFG conference will be the venue for the FWPA AGM and there will also be a new farm forestry toolbox training session the Thursday after the conference.
