Foresters and contractors linking into one event

 
In a recent issue of highlighted some of the key issues that will be covered in the eagerly awaited ForestTECH 2012 series. This year’s event is focussing on innovations, strategies and technologies being used by forest products companies to improve their planning, logistics and operations within the wood supply chain.

To ensure maximum networking across the various parts of the wood supply chain, the Australian Forest Contractors Association will be linking into the event by running their own Board Meeting, AGM and member function at the same Melbourne venue the day before, Tuesday 27 November.

In New Zealand, the Forest Industry Contractors Association likewise has also timed their annual two-day gathering, the Big Day Out, to run alongside ForestTECH 2012 on 4-5 December. The forestry contractor's Big Day Out caters for logging and silviculture contractors alike and the programme includes a Contractors' Field Trip, Silviculture Summit and a Safety and Productivity Forum. The dinner on the 4th will be a highlight as ForestTECH delegates and sponsors, FICA members and sponsors and Forest Industry Engineering Association members and sponsors will join forces.
